Meet Katie

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor serving the Cincinnati area. In 2015, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Arizona. After that, I spent one year volunteering in a crisis center, receiving  calls from the National Crisis Line and being there for individuals in desperate times. Little did I know, that year of managing crises by phone would be crucial training to have as we found ourselves utilizing telehealth systems daily after COVID-19 became reality in 2020. In August of 2018, I graduated from the Clinical Mental Health Program at Xavier University where I gained a host of experiences through classroom, practicum and internship training.

My professional career began with providing School-Based Therapy to elementary and middle school age children. I then transitioned into a church setting serving individuals spanning all ages and concerns. Since completing my Master's degree, I have focused primarily on serving adults and young adults who have experienced lifelong traumas, various levels of anxiety and depression and acute stress. Working in a variety of settings has given me a unique insight into the full spectrum of mental health struggles experienced by all ages. While working in these various settings, I have found a common thread of growth in counseling to be rooted in a trusting therapeutic relationship.

My passion for this field of counseling stems from an understanding of the benefits which come from being vulnerable with oneself and having a willingness to speak out about areas of pain. Counseling is unique in that it provides individuals with the opportunity to explore themselves and their world in a meaningful way with the guidance of a trained professional who is willing to explore those hurts with you. I
welcome you to this journey and I encourage you to know you are not alone.

"Anxiety was born in the very same moment as mankind. And since we will never be able to master it, we will have to learn to live with it—just as we have learned to live with storms."
